Every morning on my way to work, I pass through two cemeteries–one on each side of the road, and the stones stand out in the early sun like bookmarks of a hundred tales in the story of the world. Each one has something different to share about their life experiences and on the first of November, my tradition remembers their presence while they were here. Each soul could share moments of tragedy and triumph, of love, war, sickness, and bliss–of a life lived to the best of its ability. My own dad passed a few years ago and I often wonder, if he were here, what would he think of our world today? As Gandhi’s quote suggests there have always been times when it seemed impossible, but truth and love always win in the end. The most important thing for us today is to first discover our truth and do the best to live it while also respecting the stories and truths of each other. We are all creating chapters with our lives…let’s focus on making ours one that will inspire those who follow in our footsteps to walk with love.
